Mullumbimby Hire and Sales has been a part of the Byron Shire community for over 30 years. We opened our doors on Station Street in 1994 and we have been here ever since, serving the same community we live in. We are not a franchise, we are not backed by a corporate head office, and we do not answer to anyone outside the region. This is a locally owned and operated business run by people who care about the area and the customers we work with every day.

Over the years we have watched the Northern Rivers grow and change. New families have moved in, local businesses have come and gone, and the region has become one of the most sought-after places to live in Australia. Through all of that, we have stayed put, adapted to what the community needs, and continued to invest in the gear, the service and the local knowledge that keeps our customers coming back. We know the local conditions, we understand the seasonal rhythms, and we have built real relationships with the tradies, event planners, homeowners and property managers who rely on us.

Mullumbimby Hire and Sales is a locally owned and operated hire and pool care business based at 73 Station Street, Mullumbimby. We have been serving Byron Shire and the wider Northern Rivers since 1994, helping locals, tradies, event planners and property managers get what they need under one roof. Over the years we have built a reputation as the go-to local shed for anyone who needs to hire gear, plan an event, or keep their pool in good shape without the hassle of dealing with multiple suppliers across the region.

What We Believe In

We have always run the business on a few simple principles that have not changed in over 30 years. We show up when we say we will. We give honest advice, even if it means suggesting a smaller hire, a simpler solution, or telling you that you do not need something at all. We price fairly and transparently so there are no surprises. We do not overcomplicate things or make customers jump through hoops to get what they need. And if something goes wrong, we own it and we sort it.

We hired a cool room, dance floor, outdoor furniture, umbrellas, lawn games, tables etc for our wedding in Nov 2025. The team at Mullum hire are amazing. I can’t thank them enough. The entire process from booking through to pack down and collection was seamless. The hire equipment is great quality and well priced, especially when compared with other vendors I contacted. The team are professional, helpful and easy to deal with, nothing was a drama for them. I couldn’t be happier with how everything went. We used the Mullum Hire team for our at-home wedding earlier this month. Everything from the marquee and lighting to the knives and forks was sourced from the Mullum Hire team, and they were absolutely incredible to deal with. They consulted and advised me on the best options for our wedding venue, as well as looked over things like our seating chart to ensure that everything would fit perfectly.
