Our hire range includes mini diggers, power tools, hand tools, box trailers, car trailers, flatbed trailers, motorbike trailers and winch trailers. From digging and demolition through to cutting, grinding, sanding and shifting, we stock the gear that gets projects done across Mullumbimby, Byron Shire and the wider Northern Rivers. Being based right here in town means no long drives to pick up or return equipment — just pop into the shed on Station Street and you are sorted.

How Much Does Equipment Hire Cost in Mullumbimby?
Mullumbimby Hire and Sales offers flexible equipment hire rates across Ballina and the Northern Rivers, with most items available on a 4-hour or 24-hour basis so you only pay for the time you actually need the gear. Weekly rates are also available on selected items for longer projects.
To give you an idea of what to expect, here is a general guide to our hire pricing across the most popular equipment categories.
Power Tools
Power tools such as angle grinders, circular saws, jigsaws, belt sanders and drop saws start from around $25 for a 4-hour hire and $40 to $60 for 24 hours. Drills, including high torque and rotary hammer models, range from $35 to $45 for 4 hours and $55 to $70 for a full day.
Concrete & Brick Tools
Concrete and brick tools are available for everything from small pours to full slab work. Concrete mixers start from $40 for 4 hours, concrete saws from $95, and concrete grinders from $105. Jackhammers are available from $50 to $55 for 4 hours or $95 for 24 hours.
Lawn & Garden Equipment
Lawn and garden equipment covers everything from brushcutters and hedge trimmers at $45 for 4 hours through to chainsaws from $45 to $75, chipper mulchers at $120, log splitters at $100, and stump grinders at $110. Great for property maintenance, land clearing and weekend clean-ups.
Flooring Tools
Flooring tools including drum sanders, edgers, orbital sanders and floor polishers range from $35 to $60 for 4 hours and $60 to $90 for a full day. Sandpaper and consumables are charged separately.
Generators & Pumps
Generators and pumps are available from $55 for 4 hours, covering everything from inverter generators and 5.5 KVA units through to submersible pumps, firefighter pumps and flex-drive pumps for water transfer and site drainage.
Scaffolding & Access Equipment
Scaffolding and access equipment including mobile aluminium scaffolds, extension ladders, step ladders and trestle systems start from $20 for a step ladder through to $75 for a 4-metre mobile scaffold.
Trailers
Trailers start from $45 for a 4-hour hire of a standard box trailer, with car trailers and removalist trailers available from $75. Tandem trailers and caged trailers with ramps are also available for larger loads.
Welding, Lifting, Cleaning, Sewer & Air Tools
Welding, lifting, cleaning, sewer and air tool equipment is also available across a range of hire periods.
All prices are a guide and blades, abrasives, fuels, gases and other consumables are charged separately. Delivery and pickup is available across Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers, priced according to location. FAQs about Equipment Hire
What happens if I damage your equipment?
If the equipment is damaged due to misuse or abuse while in your care, it is your responsibility. It is advisable to contact us as soon as possible in these situations.
Do I need to clean the equipment before I return it?
Yes, we would like you to make a reasonable effort to remove any dirt , dust or concrete that has occurred during your use.
What should I do if a machine stops working?
Refer to any manual supplied and/or phone us to describe the problem. If our equipment fails on site we will deliver a replacement. We request that you do not attempt repairs yourself or fiddle with tools and equipment (everyone is not a mechanic).
What happens if I’m late returning equipment?
Our hire fees are based on the time our equipment is out, not on the time used. You will be charged additional hire fees. Please refer to Building Equipment Terms and Conditions for our half-day, 24-hour and weekly rates.
Do I pay when I pick up?
Yes, all hire fees must be paid prior to delivery or pick-up. Please be aware that we also charge a deposit on some items.
